Attendance

We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30am to 6:00pm. You will be assessed a late fee of $5.00 for any portion of five minutes your child remains in our care after 6.00 P.M. If your child will not be attending for the day, please notify the center as soon as you can. Our fees are calculated on weekly attendance, there is no discount when the provider is closed due to a holiday. The following is a list of holidays for which the provider is closed:

  • New Years Day
  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day and Day After
  • Christmas Day

If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the provider will be closed the Friday before. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, the provider will be closed the Monday after.

Schedule changes

Late arrivals, early pick up, etc. must be given with a one week notice, except in the case of an emergency or illness. Emergency schedule changes should be given as soon as possible. A child's absence due to illness or any other reason does not relieve the liability for payment of services for the missed day. You will be responsible for paying in full for all days your child is absent for care. Phone calls to report such absences or late arrivals can be made between 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.

Payment and Fees

We have a non-refundable enrollment fee of $35. Payment is due on the Friday before service. If Friday is a holiday, payment is due the Thursday before. If you will be out of town on a Friday please make arrangements to have the payment in on time (have a friend or family member drop it off, drop off payment early, for example). A late fee of $10.00 per day will be due for payments made after Friday. There is a $35 returned check fee. A returned check will require cash only payments for future services.

Snow Days

On snow days, every effort to open on time and remain open throughout the day will be made. If conditions become hazardous while we are open, your children will be picked up from school, if schools are let out early. Cancellation or late start will be announced on local television news, our voice mail and this website.

Transportation

We provide transportation to select area schools. All children must be restrained during transport. Permission forms to transport children must be signed upon enrollment, and permission slips for specific trips will be presented before field trips

Safety and Security

To ensure your child's safety at Fantastic Beginnings, we have a limited access security door. Upon enrollment you will receive one card to open the main entrance door. If you need any additional cards for any others who will be picking up your child regularly, please let us know. Each additional card will require a $10.00 deposit.

Anyone picking up a child must be prepared to show a picture ID to the staff member in charge. Please notify the Director if someone will pick up your child other than the parent or guardian.

We welcome parents and guardians to call or visit our center at any time. Any other visitors are required to see the Director. Parents must sign their children in and out each day.

Meals

Parents are responsible for bringing in any baby food and formula their child will need.

Our menus will be posted and sent home. Additional menus are available upon request.

Meals are served:
  • Breakfast 7:00 and 8:30 A.M.
  • Lunch 11:45 A.M.
  • Snacks 2:45 P.M.

If your child will arrive after these times please feed them before they are dropped off. Food may not be brought from home unless there is a specific medical condition requiring special meals such as an allergy or a temporary condition (stomach virus, etc.) A doctor's statement must be provided in these cases.

Treats may be brought from home on special days (Birthdays and Holidays). These treats must be store bought and in the original unopened packaging. Please bring enough treats so that all of the children in your child's classroom may have one.

Illness

Your child should not come to the center with the following conditions:

  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhea
  • Sore Throat
  • Red or Mattering eyes (pink eye)
  • Skin Rash
  • Head Lice
  • Nits

Fantastic Beginnings has a no nit policy. If your child has nits or live lice they cannot return to the center for 24 hours after treatment. Children will be checked before re-admittance. A child whose hair contains nits or live lice will be sent home immediately.

Children who are sick need rest and individual attention in order to make a full recovery. We also need to protect the other children in the center from becoming ill. A child who is suspected to be ill will be separated from the rest of the children until a parent or guardian picks them up. Children must be on medication for 24 hours, have no fever for 24 hours, no vomiting for 24 hours, and or have a doctor's note approving their return. If a child is too ill to participate in daily activities, he/she should remain at home. In the event of an emergency, 911 will be called and you will be notified immediately. Please supply information pertaining to your medical insurance. In some cases when a child is sent home, suspected pink eye or other highly contagious illness, we may require a doctor to sign a release form before your child may return to daycare. Please keep in mind that this is to protect the well being of all children in our care.

Medication

Medication can be administered to a child with written consent from their parent/guardian. Specific instructions must be filled out by the parent and given to the provider. All medication must come in the original packaging; prescription medication must be in the pharmacy packaging with the child's name and dosage instructions. Please ask for one of these forms if your child needs medication while in our care.
